Multimedia API Integration

Hello, I was wondering what the best course of action is for integrating a multimedia API; or if it’s possible at all. I installed the SFML library for C++ using the command

sudo apt-get install libsfml-dev

which went fine. I was able to compile a simple program fine but I’m having difficulty actually running the executable. I get the error

workspace $ ./sfml
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow)
Serial number of failed request: 57
Current serial number in output stream: 58

Does the sandbox require more configuration from me to properly run?

Thanks!

P.S. SFML executables display to a window separate from the terminal. Opening up a desktop tab does not solve the issue.

Hi Israel!

I think that should work, but it looks like it does require some more configuration. I came across this topic which sounds like the same issue https://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=9542. The solution there was to “install libglade3 and then create an Xorg.conf”. Unfortunately they didn’t provide details about the Xorg.conf file.

That sounds like a cool use case for the platform, hopefully you are able to get it working, but it’s possible that the platform may not support that type of program.
